Houses of Parliament

A bit later than promised, but yesterday I went to Prime Minister's Questions and also helped my friend pack up his parliamentary office prior to the election. PMQ's was, of course, this week without Gordon Brown and therefore Cameron and Clegg too - which as I quite like William Hague and Vince Cable that was fine with me.

It is quite different seeing it live to watching on the television, you don't hear quite all the barracking and heckles on television - the SNP are the best hecklers by the way. The best question, which also got the best response was Dr Evan Harris asking about the succession to the Throne and Harriet Harman clearly took a little bit of time finding the answer but promising it would be worth it, only to read than say "or maybe not" when she read it - she was right! Anthony Steen also asked a very good and very important question about human trafficking especially in light of the earthquake in Haiti.

From where I was sitting I could only see the Conservatives and Liberal Democrat benches - what stood out is how male and how white the two parties are - I suspect the Labour benches look a bit better, but clearly this is something that needs addressing.
