What a weekend!

10.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 2nd Jul 2009

I had my parents up at the weekend and what a jam-packed weekend it was - and i have only just got around to writing about it!

On Friday night they arrived after a mammoth six-hour journey so I cooked and we stayed in.

On Saturday we went over the to National Memorial Arboretum for Armed Forces Day, it is somewhere I would certainly recommend even without the parade we saw. There are many memorials to those that have fallen in all the different conflicts and missions. The most humbling memorial is not what is there but the huge space for more names and memorials for those not yet fallen.

On the way back we popped in to Lichfield and had a wander round and then stopped off at some shops on the way back - getting caught in the storm.

On Sunday we went down to the West Midlands Safari Park - again another recommended trip - and then Bantock Park on the way home before I cooked a roast.

All in all a very busy but very good weekend.
