Labour gain from the Conservatives in Redditch

Yesterday saw three by-elections in the West Midlands - two in Redditch and one in Wolverhampton South East. The Conservatives held one in Redditch and lost the other to Labour and Labour held in Wolverhampton.

The full results were:

Central, Redditch District Council (Labour gain from Conservative)

Labour 51%

Conservative 37%

Liberal Democrat 6%

Independent 2%

Green 3%

Headless Cross, Redditch District Council

Conservative 48%

Labour 32%

Liberal Democrat 10%

Green 7%

Independent 3%

Ettingshall Ward, Wolverhampton City Council

Labour - Sandra Samuels - 1,274 votes, 59% -8%

Conservative - Arun Photay - 449 votes, 21% +1%

Liberal Democrat - Stephanie Kerrigan - 366 votes, 17% +4%

Independent - Jaswinder Tinsa - 77 votes, 4%
