High profile Liberal Democrat MP Lembit Opik has joining the Liberal Democrat campaign in Wednesfield.

Lembit was joined fellow Liberal Democrats campaigning in the Ashmore Park area of Wednesfield where they met with local residents to discuss, amongst other things, the drugs problem in the area.

Ian Jenkins, Liberal Democrat candidate for Wednesfield North said "Many residents have been telling me about the drug problem in Ashmore Park area and I am determined to do something about it, Lembit shared his knowledge and experience and suggested various ways in which this problem can be tackled."

Lembit said "I am glad to be able to support the Liberal Democrat campaigns in these by-elections and wish Ian Jenkins and John Steatham every success."
