Liberal Democrats select for the Wednesfield North and Wednesfield South by-elections3.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 29th Sep 2008 The Liberal Democrats have selected their candidates from the Wednesfield North and Wednesfield South by-elections on October 23rd. Ian Jenkins has been selected as the candidate for Wednesfield North and John Steatham has been selected as the candidate for Wednesfield South. Ian is a sales manager in the heating industry and a member of UNITE. Ian is married to Ann and they have two daughters who attended local schools and four grandchildren. Ian is the Chairman of Wolverhampton East Liberal Democrats and has been active in the Party for 35 years. Ian is also an active campaigner for Railfuture and a senior steward at Fordhouses Methodist Church. John is a businessman in his mid 50's. John is married to Helen and they have a 25 year old daughter and a 22 year old son. John has previous experience of being a Councillor in Wolverhampton. The by-elections have been caused due to the resignations of Conservative Councillors Carol and David Bourne.
