Sajjad Karim defects to the Tories

Sajjad Karim

Sajjad Karim a North West England MEP has defected from the Liberal Democrats to the Conservatives. I do not know Sajjad well but had heard he had threatened to defect should he not beat Chris Davies for the number one position on the Liberal Democrat Euro list, well he didn't beat Chris and now he has defected.

Sajjad, of course, is claiming he is joining the Tories for positive reasons.

As a result of the defection the Liberal Democrats no longer have any elected BME Parliamentarians.
