More Liberal Democrat success

The Liberal Democrats won another by-election in the West Midlands this Thursday. The Liberal Democrat Lynda Garbett gained the Broseley East seat on Broseley Town Council with 76.8% of the vote, from the Labour Party. Broseley is in Ludlow Constituency and the result bodes well for the holding the seat at the General Election.

The result in full was:

Lynda Garbett, Liberal Democrat, 209 votes 76.8%

Labour 63 23.2%

Liberal Democrat majority of 146

Since the Local Elections there have been two by-elections in the West Midlands and the Liberal Democrats have gained both seats. A third by-election is pending in Malvern in Worcestershire where the Liberal Democrats will attempt to complete a hat-trick of gains.
